Watch Me Lose Weight!

Posts Tagged ‘lose 90 lbs

Today is my 6th day on Medifast. Day 5 went great for me, yet again. The hunger gets less and less every day. I hardly notice it now. I haven’t had a headache since day two, and I’m now sleeping about 7-8 hours per night, instead of 10-12. I still have lots of energy, the sweet taste in my mouth from ketosis, and a burning desire to lose this weight and get healthy…once and for all.

Reflections on Food

Perhaps when I think of a food that’s really bad for me, then I get “hungry”. It’s amazing how good we get at fooling our bodies into thinking we’re so hungry for certain foods when we’re really not. This past week has taught me a lot about self-control and the true meaning of self-discipline. I’m so proud of myself for sticking to Medifast 100%. I know I owe this to myself to lose this weight an be healthy. I’m only 25 years old! I have NO excuse to be chubby. I haven’t even had a child yet… so that excuse is out of the question. I wasn’t even fat growing up. Not even chubby! I was thin! Gosh.. how do we manage to do this to ourselves? It’s quite sad.

Really, most of my life has been such a mentally draining journey. I’ve had a very different upbringing than most, and was very independent at a very early age. A lot of  my “comfort” eating has probably derived from my issues of feeling overwhelmed. It’s amazing the kinds of things you start to realize about food when you aren’t using it as a crutch anymore. Admitting it is tough. I didn’t even admit it until I was a few days into MF. I used food to make me feel better. Eating out, eating in, sweets… didn’t matter. The more, the better. Not good.

I never had these kinds of revelations when I was on Weight Watchers. I was too busy counting points.

Why I can Stick to This

Looking back on the past 5 days, I am really glad I made the decision to start Medifast. It was just what I needed to do to pull myself out of my depression, get motivated, and to grow my hope for life once again. If staying on this is as simple as the past few days have been, I definitely KNOW I can do this. I have a lot of confidence that I can see this through ’til the end, because it’s actually teaching me good habits.

What’s To Come?

Taking everything one day at a time has always been my problem. This program is teaching me the value of just doing the best I can, day to day. Everyday that I stay on the plan is a day closer to me reaching my goal. Before I started Medifast, everyday I was alive was one more day that I probably gained another pound. It was me beating myself up over eating that cheeseburger, or PMS-driven cravings of chocolate cake. It was me simply starting to lose hope. Knowing that I couldn’t count points for the rest of my life… I was highly discouraged.

I’m very curious to see what my first week weight loss will be, as it will truly set the tone for the rest of my Medifast journey.  I’ve seen first week results that were amazing! Usually ranging from 5-15 lbs, with heavier people tending to lose a bit more during those first few weeks.  I started out at 240.8, and am hoping for a 10+ lb loss, but I won’t beat myself up if it’s lower.

I’m very much looking forward to my weight loss journey. Stay tuned! Great things will be happening!

Great!!!!

Medifast is Making me HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know what it is about living off of stored fat, but it’s making my entire mood better. I’m more motivated, energetic, and I even need less sleep. I’d generally need around 10-11 hours of sleep per day, now it’s more like 7-8…which is more along the lines of normal. Even sleeping 10 or 11 hours, I’d still feel fatigued, kind of moody, and overall… just fat and “blah”. Not today. it was awesome.

The Hunger REALLY DOES Fade!!

I’m really starting to get excited because I’m finding myself not nearly as hungry as I was the first few days, which makes fighting the temptations MUCH easier. I crave bad foods when I’m hungry… so this will be my motivation to stay in ketosis, and 100% OP. Not having those hardcore cravings during hardcore hunger will really make this 90 lb weight loss seem so much feasible.

Overall, I feel great. I even feel mentally more clear. I feel more clarity when organizing my day, my calls, business tasks, and more. I’m a lot more outgoing for some reason. It’s really weird. I feel like inside of my head things are fresh, clean, and new. (if that makes sense). It’s the feeling you when when you step into a room that’s really bright, open, and airy. Just fresh… life in general is just becoming much more awesome. This is giving me something to look forward to, which I can honestly say I haven’t had in a while.

A Little Reward

My husband treated us to a Bath and Body Works trip today (because yes, he likes it too), and we rewarded ourselves with some wonderful candles, room sprays, and other goodies. We stopped at a game store and decided on a Wii game for ourselves as well. Since it was something we could play together, I was okay with it… we don’t really go out much and we almost never spend frivolously on things like this… so it was a nice reward-type of purchase for us both. 🙂 It’s a tennis game, so it’s quite interactive. Not full-blown exercise, but you are standing, and you have to swing your arm around as if you were swinging a real tennis racket.  The husband’s not doing medifast, but he’s completely cut out fast food, junk food, and sweets, mostly because he doesn’t want to eat it around me. He’ll be starting Medifast once he gets the OK from his Dr.

All in all, day 4 ended GREAT! I tried eating Egg beaters today and realized that the 2 cups they say to eat are a LOT! I ended up having to split it up. This is insane! Just days earlier I would’ve wolfed that down with quickness! I wish I would’ve known about that the first day. I ate chicken during my Lean and Green for the first day. Oh well.

We live and we learn!
